Warrior Golf Academy Scramble Winners

The Friday the 13th Warrior Golf 2-Some Battle

Lights, Cameras, and Lower Scores: The Friday the 13th "FUN-Raising" Battle at Warrior Golf Academy

In the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, something far more meaningful than a typical night out took place last Friday. Warrior Golf Academy (WGA) officially took over the "F.O.B." (Strokes 'N' Drivers) for a high-energy media production and adaptive golf competition that proved golf is truly a "force for good."

This wasn’t just a tournament; it was a tactical mission to build community, showcase resilience, and raise critical funds for our Veterans and First Responders.

A New Kind of Competition: The 2-Man Scramble & Fun Bucket Challenges

The night was centered around a high-stakes 2-man scramble, where teams of Veterans and First Responders went head-to-head. But at WGA, we like to keep things innovative. To keep the energy high and the skill-building interactive, we introduced:

  • The "Fun Bucket" Golf Challenges: These weren't your average drills. These were high-pressure, precision-based games designed to test focus and camaraderie—skills that translate directly from the battlefield or the station to the fairway.

  • The Stitch Golf "Closest to the Pin" Contest: Accuracy was the name of the game. Our participants battled it out for a custom Stitch Golf Bag, showcasing the elite gear that supports our adaptive athletes.

Filming for a Cause: The YouTube Media Production

The entire evening was a full-scale YouTube media production. At Warrior Golf Academy, we believe visibility is key to changing the narrative around Veteran transition and mental health. By filming these "Practice with Purpose" sessions, we are showing the world the grit and identity found through the game of golf.

Providing a platform for our heroes to share their stories while chasing a birdie is part of our broader mission to bridge the gap for First Responders and Military members alike.

Congratulations to Our Champions: Mathew (USCG) and Natalie

The leaderboard was packed with talent, but one team rose to the top. A massive congratulations to Mathew (USCG) and his wife Natalie for securing the victory!

Their performance earned them the grand prize: A premier foursome at Trump International Palm Beach, valued at $3,000. Seeing a Coast Guard family take home the win at the F.O.B. was a testament to the family-centric, supportive network we are building here in South Florida.

The Power of the $40 Sponsorship

Events like this are made possible by the incredible support of our community. Throughout the lead-up to the event, local donors stepped up to "Sponsor a Hero." These $40 contributions allowed Veterans and First Responders to compete for free, ensuring that financial hurdles never stand in the way of healing and community connection.

What’s Next for Warrior Golf Academy?

The Friday the 13th battle was just the beginning. As we continue to expand our FREE digital course, "Learn to Play Golf: Fundamentals for Beginners," and plan our upcoming Memorial Day Fundraising Event, the momentum is only growing.
